My Pinkalicious Blog Hop ~ March 2012

I am so glad you could join us for this evening's My Pinkalicious Blog Hop!   You should have arrived from Tx Scrapper Mom's blog.  If you are just joining us, you can start at the beginning at Robyn's (My Pink Stamper) blog,

  • Theme for Project: St. Patrick's Day! Think Green! Show us a card, layout, mini book, party idea, home decor--anything!

  • For my project, I created a St. Patrick's Day kissing ball...better to be kissed then pinched, right?

    Material Used:
    • Cricut digital cartridge St. Patrick's Day
    • Cricut cartridge Hannah Montana
    • My Pink Stamper From the Heart stamp set
    • Moss covered sphere
    • Core'dinations cardstock
    • Stampin' Up! cardstock in Early Espresso, More Mustard, Garden Green, Naturals Ivory and Whisper White
    • Stampin' Up! Early Espresso classic ink
    • Stampin' Up! Square Lattice embossing folder
    • Stampin' Up! 1 1/4" grosgrain ribbon in Old Olive and Early Espresso
    • Stampin' Up! Kiwi Kiss corduroy buttons
    • Stampin' Up! gold cord
    • Ranger distress ink in Crushed Olive and Antique Linen
    • Gold Smooch Spritz
    • Jewelry Fundamentals in Antique Brass
    • Seed beads in green and gold
    • Tiger eye chips
    • Hot glue gun/glue
I started off by cutting about 125 shamrocks in two different sizes and colors and embossed the lighter color shamrocks with an embossing folder.  I then hot glued all the darker green shamrocks onto the moss ball.

Once they were adhered, I added the lighter color shamrocks.  Next, I sprayed the ball with gold Smooch Spritz and added my ribbons.  For my bow, I first wrapped the ball with the Old Olive ribbon and added a sewed hook made from the Early Espresso ribbon before tying the bow.

Once tied, I added a button to each side of the hook and tied them on with gold stretch cord.  I glued down the middle of each side of the bow for added interest.

I cut the bannered sentiment from the digital Cricut cartridge St. Patrick's Day twice.  Once, leaving all the layers as is and again, using the hide/contour feature in the Cricut Craft Room to hide the sentiments and clover so that I could add lips (from Hannah Montana Cricut cartridge)  and the sentiment SWAK from My Pink Stamper's From the Heart stamp set.  Once the image was cut and adhered, I added gold Smooch Spritz to it as well.

I added seed beads and Tiger eye chips to the jewelry fundamental and added it to the bottom of the ball using hot glue.  Lastly, I added a jump ring to a 1/8" punched hole in my image and added it to the kissing ball.    Now I am all ready to be KISSED!  ;)

To thank you for visiting my blog and for hopping along with us, I am giving away the My Pink Stamper set "Love-alicious".

All you have to do to win  is leave a comment on this post.  I will select a winner on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 using Random.org.  The winner will have until Friday, March 16, 2012 at midnight (central) to claim the prize by contacting me.  If contact has not been made by this time, the stamp set will go back into my prize stash for a future hop.

    84. This actually seems to make more sense than mistletoe! All one needs to do is wear a "Kiss me, I'm Irish" shirt or button (isn't everyone Irish on St. Patrick's Day?) and just "hang out" by the kissing ball!
