WOW!  Was that ever a lot of food!!!  I had a fantastic Thanksgiving holiday with my family.  I hope you did too!  I am on the ball, and have already created the scrapbook pages for this year's photos.  Now...to just get them developed!  ;)

Recipe Card Swaps

Guess what time it is???  Christmas cookie time!  Here are some recipe cards I made for some Christmas Cookie Recipe Swaps:

So excited to get back my 80 recipe cards!  Yup...you read it right.  I had to make 20 of each to get 80 back!  Hopefully, I won't gain 80 lbs to go along with all the cookies I will be making!  ;)

Happy Thanksgiving and a tutorial to keep you busy...

Good Morning and Happy Thanksgiving! I thought I would share a quick tutorial on making an A2 Waterfall card with you for those that find themselves with some extra time this holiday break:

Materials Used:

• Cricut Cartridges From My Kitchen and A Child's Year
• My Pink Stamper Flowers & Friendship
• Stampin' Up cardstock in Early Espresso, Chocolate Chip, Sage Shadow
• White cardstock from my stash
• Stampin' Up designer series paper Wintergreeen
• Stampin' Up Mellow Moss grosgrain ribbon
• Stampin' Up Soft Subtles eyelets
• Stampin' Up Early Espresso classic ink
• Pop dots

Directions/ Tutorial:

Start with a 4 1/4" x 11" piece of cardstock.  Score at 5 1/2".  You may also just use a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 piece of cardstock as an option and not have the extra insert for messaging.

Cut a 3" x 9" piece of cardstock.  Score at 2", 2 3/4", 3 1/2" and 4 1/4" width wise.

Add your designer paper cut at 4" x 5 1/4". 

Add a strip of 1" x 4" cardstock with eyelets, brads, or other type of adhesive.  Note:  If you use adhesive, JUST use on the immediate sides.  However, I would recommend one of the first two methods.

Add sticky tape to the center of the smaller strip.

Place the 3" x 9" piece of cardstock where desired (I centered it and left a larger margin on the bottom) onto the adhesive strip.  The scored section should be on top.

Cut 4 2 7/8" x 2 7/8" pieces of cardstock.  Cut 4 3" x 3" pieces of cardstock.  Embellish the smaller pieces and adhere to the 3" bases.

Starting from the bottom, adhere the squares onto the 3" x 9" piece at each score mark.

Only use adhesive at the top of the 3" x 3" pieces when adhering.

Continue layering the 3" pieces until all four are adhered.  The last piece should be at the top of the folded 3"x 9".

Add a ribbon or other type of pull to the bottom of the back layer.  I also layered a piece of cardstock onto the back, but this is optional.

Cut a semi-circle or other shape at the bottom so the card's recipient knows to pull the ribbon.

All done!

The images will flip (waterfall) as the recipient pulls the ribbon. 

Add your sentiment to the last back section.

I also layered the inside as an option.

Well, that's it!  You can easily change up the sizes as well by changing the size of the four flip pieces.  For instance, you can cut the base pieces at 2"x 2", their layers at 1 7/8" x 1 7/8", the small strip at 3/4" x 4" and the larger strip 2" x 9" for a more uniform look and size (All other measurements would stay the same).  It's much easier then it looks, so give it a try!

My Pink Stamper November 2011 Assignment ~ Unique Folds

Hi everyone!  For November's My Pink Stamper assignment, we were challenged to use a unique card folding technique.  I chose to create a Center Step Card in an A2 size (some call it Center Kick):

Materials Used:

• Cricut cartridges, Martha Stewart Holiday Cakes, Elegant Edges and Going Places
• My Pink Stamper "Flowers & Friendship" stamp set
• Stampin' Up cardstock in Marina Mist, Wild Wasabi, Real Red & Crumb Cake
• Stampin' Up dsp in Wild Wasabi
• Stampin' Up Bright Bolds brads
• Stampin' Up classic ink in Marina Mist, Early Espresso & Real Red
• Ranger distress ink in Forest Moss
• Red Stickles
• Pop Dots

Directions/ Tutorial:

Step 1

Start with a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" piece of cardstock.

Step 2

Line cardstock up in paper trimmer so that the edge of the card is at the 1" mark. Position the cutting blade at 1" and cut from 1" to 5.25".  Flip card over and do the same on the other side.  Be sure to keep the previous cut at the top.

Step 3

Place cardstock onto scoring tool and score along the long side of the card from the edge to the cut line at 1", 2" and 5.25".  Repeat on the opposite side.  The score marks should look like this. 

Step 4

Score between cut lines at 4.25".  The card should now look like this.

Step 5

Fold at the score lines. The first, third and center score lines are mountain folds. The second score line is a valley fold.  Use a bone folder to increase the crispness of your folds/scores.

Step 6

Once opened, the card should look like this.  Now, just decorated as desired!

That's it! Super easy and fun to decorate.

My Pinkalicious Blog Hop Friday ~ November

Welcome to this month's Pinkalicious Blog Hop hosted by Robyn at My Pink Stamper!  This month we were challenged to use Robyn's latest stamp releases in a mini album or a scrapbook page.  Since I have SO many photos that need scrappin', I decided on a layout:

Materials Used:

• Imagine Cartridge "Better Together"
• My Pink Stamper "Flowers & Friendship" stamp set
• Core'dinations cardstock
• Pop dots
• Stampin' Up Black classic ink
• Stampin' Up Black journaling marker
• White Gelly Roll pen

    This layout is super easy if you have an Imagine.  I started off by printing and cutting the first layer (scene) of the image on page 10 of Better Together @ fit to page.  Next, I cut all the layers of the girl/dog image on page 20 @ 4.5" relative.    I then compared the images to my Core'dinations paper stack to see which colors matched up best.  What I like about Core'dinations paper is that it adds texture to your project.  You can leave it as is, like I did in my layout, and it still has a textured look and feel.  In addition, you can emboss it for added depth and design, you can tear it, sand it, just do about anything you would like to it to give it a different look.  It also cuts well in my Cricut machines. 
    Once I had all my images added to the base cardstock, I decided on size and picture placement.  I used two 4x6 rectangles, rounded the edges, and adhered them to my page.  I chose my sentiment from My Pink Stamper's Flowers & Friendship stamp set and stamped it right onto the scene layer. It can be ordered HERE.  Lastly, I added hand stitching and doodles to complete the page.

Ball & Chain

For this month's Cricut Circle's Magazine Challenge, we were given a sketch to follow.  This is my interpretation of the sketch, a ball and chain:

And here is the sketch:

The ball is the ice cream cut from Sweet Tooth boxes cut at 11.5" and represents the circle in the sketch.  The chain is cut by hand from the left over grey from the 12x12 cardstock I used.  The rectangle pieces are 3.8" x 1.0" qty = 18.  I also cut 18 patterned rectangles at 3.8" x .5".  The smaller rectangles are adhered to the larger rectangles to represent the layered band in the sketch.  After creating my chain, I connected it to the ball and added the hand cut cuff to the chain, again using the leftover grey cardstock cut at 8.25" x 1.5".  I trimmed the edges in to connect it to the chain.  Next, I cut the lock to represent the heart in the sketch and the key to represent the rectangle.  I pop dotted the heart pieces for dimension and inked the edges.  Last, I cut the sentiment from Tie the Knot and added it to the cuff.  The smaller heart is the leftover heart from the key image. 

I created this treat box to hold a gift card or small present for the newly wed couple.
