I am on a roll!  Here is my latest Cricut Circle Blogiversary submission:

The Challenge: Use your Cricut machines to create a project using the following “recipe.” It must contain 1) A Title; 2) Atleast 2 Cricut Cuts, and 3) Atleast 3 buttons.

Can you believe I FINALLY bought Baby Boutique?  It just arrived yesterday so I HAD to create a project with it!

I love the Imagine!  It's so easy to print and create everything you need from one cart.  Everything matches perfectly and the theme is already thought up for you.  You can leave the cuts plain or dress them up with as much embellishing as your heart desires (or the layout will take LOL).  For this layout, I pop dotted the layers of the "It's a Girl" phrase, created 3 buttons (one with twine added), used pink moon drops on the crown, and added a tulle border.

You Are My Sunshine Layout.

Here is the next Cricut Circle Blogiversary Challenge:

The Challenge: Use your Imagine Machine to print a background (it can be a solid color or a patterned paper from your Imagine cartridge) and use it on your project as well as cutting an image of your choice in layers- that’s right, choose the layers option on your image and print out one or all of the layers offered, piece them together on your project!

Now this project was super easy due to the Imagine!  The first thing I  did was to create my edged background on a piece of 12x12 cardstcok.  I did this utilizing a Martha Stewart punch set.  Next, I printed my background paper (pg. 29) at fit to page using the Imagine cart Nursery Tails and adhered it to the edged 12x12 once I trimmed it.  The layer I chose is from the same cartridge (pg. 23).  Like the challenge requested, I printed all the layers and pop dotted them together (cut at 3.0" relative size).  I used the Imagine Shape library and flood filled 2 square shapes for my pics using the pattern on pg. 39, one @ 3.5" and one at 4.0".  I added some lime twine to the two squares before I adhered them to the layout.  Lastly, I used stickles, a white Signo gel pen,  and Crystal Effects (glossy accents) to highlight different images on the layout.  That's it!  A complete layout created in very little time. 

"Pretty" Scary Halloween Tag

Our next Cricut Circle Blogiversary Challenge is:

The Challenge: Create a project of your choice using your Cuttlebug machine as the main focus. Your project must include at least 2 different Cricut Image Cuts.

I haven't made a tag lately, so I thought this was the perfect opportunity to prepare for my spooky gift giving.  Carts I used include October 31st, Flower Shoppe and the Shape Library from the Imagine. I fulfilled the challenge by utilizing the web cuttlebug embossing folder.  Other materials used included SU & Core'dinations cardstock, Martha Stewart chunky glitter, SU elegant eggplant craft ink, Ranger forest moss distress ink, Adirondack metallic paint dabber in silver, Teresa Collins gem and hand dyed seam ribbon that I made last week.

I wanted to give the tag a spooky feminine look so I added the flowers to create the spiders body in addition to the chunky glitter.  I also raised up it's legs to complete the 3D effect.  I then finished the look with the hand dyed seam ribbon and gem.  "Pretty" scary...isn't it?  ;)

A Simple Sympathy Card

Our next Cricut Circle blogiversary challenge:

The Challenge: Create a project of your choice using a monochromatic color scheme. Your project must include atleast 2 different Cricut Image Cuts.

I broke out my new Cricut Cartridge Phrases to make this card.  I figured that I wanted the wording to be the  key subject of the card and this cartridge is perfect for that.  I also used some hand dyed seam binding that I made earlier this week. 

My Crafting Calendar

I bought this kit that includes a dry erase board and calendar to adhere to a wall, board, door, etc. some time ago knowing that I was going to use it for my crafting space.  This week, the Cricut Circle blog is hosting daily challenges in celebration of its one year anniversary.  Our first challenge:

The Challenge: Create a project of your choice with one or more of the Cricut Circle Exclusive cartridges! (French Manor, Shall We Dance, Cricut Everyday, Pop-Up Neighborhood, or Sophie) Your project must include atleast 2 different Cricut Image Cuts. And YES! You can mix in other cartridges with your Circle Exclusive cartridges.

How perfect for me!  I finally have a reason to get this much needed project done and to FINALLY use my Cricut to cut vinyl (can you believe I have never done this?).

I bought the kit on clearance at Target, but I have seen something similar at Joann's.

I used transfer tape.

I adhered the boards (they already had adhesive) to panels on my crafting desk.

Already filling these babies up!  =)

I am using the calendar to list all my crafting due dates.  The right side dry erase board will be used for simple crafting reminders like items I need to buy or things I need to do.  The cartridge used was Cricut Everyday.

Today is World Card-Making Day!

BOO to you! Cricut Circle Monthly Challenge Sept. 2011

SEPTEMBER MONTHLY CHALLENGE: Window Dressing Challenge!

One of my favorite things about my town is Main Street with its many cute and quaint shops. One of my favorite things is to take a casual stroll down the street and take my time looking at all of the beautiful windows. For this next challenge, we want to see you give your next project a “window” element of some kind. Almost like you are dressing your own window into your project.

I used the Cricut cartridges Happy Hauntings and October 31 for the cuts and the sentiment Boo to You is embossed in black from My Pink Stamper's fall set Spook-alicious.  I distressed the cardstock with ink, sandpaper, metallic paint and a SU distresser.  I inked the ghost and jack-o-lantern's edges in black.  I then used glossy accents to add depth and interest to the pumpkin and pop dotted it on to the card.  

Robot Party Birthday Card

I just received the Cricut event cartridge Robot Party and knew it would be perfect for this week's Cricut Circle Weekly Challenge:
Weekly Challenge #41: Interactive Elements Challenge! The Challenge: For this next challenge, we want to see you add an interactive element to your project.

 

Materials Used:

•  Robot Party event cartridge: Pg. 17 , , <CrdBase> all @ 5.0"; Pg. 18 <HappyBdy> @ 1.5"
• Stampin' Up card stock Not Quite Navy & Baha Breeze
• Core'dinations gray card stock
• Stampin' Up wire
• Silver eyelet and brad from my stash
• Adirondack metallic silver acrylic paint dabber
• Pop dots

This was a fairly easy project.  I simply selected my card stock colors (3) and cut the card at 5.0" relative size.  I then dabbed all the gears with the metallic silver paint dabber. Next I added the eyelet to the right side gear.  I connected it to the card with a brad so that the gear can spin in a circle.  I then adhered the card base to the card and inked the edges with the metallic silver paint dabber.  Lastly, pop dotted the last two gears on to the card front and finished it silver wire haphazardly placed.

For the inside, I cut, dabbed and added the Happy Birthday phrase found on Pg.18 of the handbook.  I also used "zipper" scissors on the edge of the card for added interest.

Stay tuned for a couple of more projects I am working on with this cart in the next few days.  Until then, scrap and then scrap some more.  =)
