Weekly Challenge #52: Things We Love Challenge!The Challenge: Scrap what you love! Include a tag and use the negative space of a Cricut cut.

For this challenge I created a bookmark.

It has many things that I love:

• Jane Austen novels (Sense & Sensibility is my favorite with Pride & Prejudice a close second)
• Paisley (the background paper)
• Shabby chic
• The color olive
• The Victorian era
• Liquid pearls
• And of course, it's made with my Cricut! =)

Since it's a bookmark, I didn't use too many embellishments so it would remain flat.  The cuts include the tag from Art Philosophy, the silhouettes and heart from Victorian Romance and the sentiment background from Word Collage.

Just bought the St.Patrick's Day Cricut digital cartridge and had to get creating right away!

It's a very basic card since I only used one cut, but I think it really pops with the color combo and embossing.  The sentiment used is from My Pink Stamper's Sport-tastic stamp set.  The rainbow is cut at 3.431" with the rest of the layers cut to relative size.

Gnomes and Mushrooms

I have had my eye on the Cricut digital cart Gnomes and Mushrooms for a while.  Since cricut.com had all their digitals on sale last week, I went ahead and purchased it.  Here is my first project using this cartridge.  Using the Cricut Craft-Room, I welded two shadows to make a shape card:

My Pink Designer Day - February 2012

I think Robyn, My Pink Stamper, and Maria are having fun coming up with creative post assignments for us!  Our post challenge this month:

Theme: How many can you use???!!!!

Use as many My Pink Stamper stamps from any set(s) on ONE project. It can be a card, scrapbook page or mini book.
 

I broke out my Imagine and created an heirloom mini recipe book for my project.

I created one page for personalization and another for dedication. 

Each page has a lined square for the recipe name, ingredients, and serving information.

The lined squares could also be used for journaling to share any loving memories and thoughts about the recipe or it's creator.

I also stamped each recipe page with a From the kitchen of: sentiment so that the recipient would know who created the recipe.

All the page bases are printed on vanilla cardstock so that the backside would match and not be white.



I know it's hard to tell from this photo angle, but the images on each page are multi-layered with atleast two layers.

Most of the images are cut at 3".

The speech bubbles are cut at 1", 1.5", and 2".

I thought adding a place for atleast one photo would help personalize the mini.  I also added some additional journaling tags.

• 1" book rings
• Celebrate It ribbon
• Vanilla and white cardstock
• Stampin' Up! linen thread
• Stampin' Up! Kiwi Kiss corderoy button
• Stampin' Up! Early Espresso classic ink
• Stampin' Up! Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon
• Stampin' Up! tag punches
• Stampin' Up" library clips
• Yellow striped bakers twine
• Mini staples
• Ranger distress ink in Peeled Paint
• BazzilBasicPaper self-adhesive jewels in Artesian Pool
• Pop dots

Although there are a lot of images to this project, it really isn't difficult if you have an Imagine.  The recipe mini itself is one of the BONUS items on the cartridge.  I simply cut it once without printing on chipboard (fit to page) and then print and cut it (fit to page x2) to cover both sides of the chipboard.   The inside sheets are another BONUS item.  I print and cut these (@ 8.5") x12.  Most of the images are cut at 3" inches using the layers feature so that each page would have dimension.  The speech bubbles are cut at 1", 1.5" and 2.0".  I inked most off the edges in Peeled Paint and added jewels throughout the mini. 

I love how perfectly the Yummy-licious stamp set coordinates with this cartridge.  Was that the plan Robyn?  ;)

On the Circut Circle message board, a weekly cartridge challenge has begun.  This week we were challenged to use the cartridge Sophie.  I still had mine in it's case!  Yikes!

I used my Imagine and filled all the shapes with patterns from the Imagine cartridge, Lori's Garden.  I also used the color combo I posted on Monday.  This cartridge has a lot of florals.  The creative features include 4 different card bases, doilies, and bookmarks.  I included a matching bookmark for the recipient stamped with My Pink Stamper Flowers and Friendship.

I am starting a weekly challenge on my blog!

I am so excited to start a new weekly challenge on my blog!  It's simply called "Creative Color Challenge". 

Basic guidelines:

I will post a color combination each Monday for you to create with.  Although  I list specific color names, you can use any similar colors and/or brands.  It may be any type of project (card, scrapbook layout, home decor, etc.)  You can link up your newly created project (no back linking) at the end of each week's post.  You have until Sunday night at midnight (central) to link your project up.  The following Monday I will post my favorite project and a randomly chosen project (using Random.org).  Both winners will get a winner's button for their blog and go into a monthly drawing to win a crafty prize.  Sound like fun?  I hope you will join me in sharing your creations.

I am using Stampin' Up! colors, but you may use any brand you like.  Just match the colors as closely as you can.

My Pink-alicious Blog Hop

Welcome to this month's My Pink-alicious Blog Hop!  You should have arrived here from Missy's blog. 
This month we were challenged as follows:

Challenge: Use the color red, a circle, a pink ribbon and MORE THAN ONE My Pink Stamper stamp.

I have been creating with the Cricut cartridge Victorian Romance and decided that I would use this cart with Robyn's stamps to create a mini word book for my project.

*** I went back and added shadows to the lettering and some liquid Pearls.  I didn't like how the lettering didn't pop against the similar backgrounds.  As I add embellishments to each additional page, I will update the pictures.  =)

• My Pink Stamper From the Heart stamp set
• K&Company McKenna paper pad
• Ranger Worn Lipstick distress ink
• Stampin' Up! cardstock in Rose Red, Very Vanilla, Mellow Moss and Always Artichoke
• Misc. ribbon from my stash

I just love the old fashioned and romantic feel the cuts on this cartridge have and how Robyn's stamps paired up with them perfectly!  I like how stamping with the distress ink made the sentiments look aged.

I want to add some more soft bling and embellishing to the mini as well, but I wanted to keep it clean and simple for the blog hop.
