Texas Longhorn's Paper Crafted Hat

I am having so much fun creating for all the challenges started this past weekend for National Scrapbook Day.  One in particular caught my eye and I just knew I had to make one.  The challenge was to make something for a male in your life ~ "When The #1 Fan is a Man".  A crafting friend shared a 3D baseball cap as her project.  That was all it took...the challenge was on!  Here is my version of the cap:

My hubby's favorite team.

Hook em' Horns!

I used two different colors of cardstock for added interest and eyelets for the cap's vent holes.

Yup, it's a treat box!
This SVG is just too awesome!  It can be purchased in a kit called Fun and Games from svgcuts for $6.99.  The rest of the graphic elements are from Cricut.

If you are new to the SVG world like me, svgcuts has affordable kits that carry a variety of 1D and 3D projects.  This is the first kit I bought from the site and was pleased with the ease it took to cut the file from my new Cricut Explore.

DID-I-MENSION II ~ Circleville National Scrapbooking Day II

Can you believe another year has passed?  Time sure does fly when you are crafting!  This year, I decided to lead DID-I-MENSION II for my activity.  Last year, did-I-mension how many Cricut cartridges have awesome 3-dimensional boxes and cuts?  Yes, I did and yes, they do!  I have bought many Cricut cartridges because it had a cute treat box that I just HAD to make and then...never did.  Well, today my challenge for you this National Scrapbook Day holiday is to crack open one of those cartridges (that you just might still have in it's clam shell) and get to creating a 3-D box, bag, or more.

The cartridge I challenged myself to create with was Anna Griffin's Summer Soirees.  When Anna partnered with Cricut, she designed a number of cartridges to completely decorate a celebration with.  Her latest release included "fiesta" cuts, so I made tabletop decorations for the upcoming Cinco de Mayo holiday.

I used Anna Griffin's Gabby design collection for my paper's along with Provo Craft's Candy Shop cardstock.  It coordinated perfectly with Anna's collection.

Hanging rosette I created.  You could also make several smaller ones for a tabletop centerpiece.  I will probably do this project and add it to my Cinco de Mayo décor within the next day or two.

Treat bag made.  I think I will be making this into the centerpiece with some rosette's on sticks coming out of it.

Here are the place settings I created.  So simple, yet so ornate.

So what cartridge are you going to create from?  I will be giving away a Cricut basic tool kit for one lucky winner.  Please add your creation to be qualified to win.

Altered Book Swap

I recently participated in a altered book swap on the Cricut Circle message board.  You were to alter a book box from Hobby Lobby and create 10 stick pins to include.  My swap partner was Angela from Angie's Paper Passion.  Here is her beautiful creation she made for me:

A secret compartment...

Filled with sock monkey's!

The stick pin to the right has all my children's birth stones in birth order!  A special stick pin made for me for Mother's Day.

Some goodies she added for me... =)

Thank you Angela!  I am amazed at the beautiful and thoughtful creations you made for me!
