Cricut Circle Weekly Challenge #32: Sketch

Weekly Challenge #32: Sketch Challenge!
The Challenge: Use the provided sketch to create a project. Feel free to turn it on it’s side, simplify or combine a few of the elements together for a card or home decor project, etc. You are welcome to create anything as long as we can see that you used the sketch as your inspiration. Have fun!

As I have said MANY times before, I am WAY behind in my scrapbooking. So here is a blast from the past that I scrapbooked. It's of my daughter in Shakespeare's play "A Midsummer Night's Dream". I just received my Creative Memory cartridges (thank you Mona!) and had to put the cart Reminisce Accents to use right away! I cut the frame and used the font from this cart. I also used Wall Decor and More for the butterfly and mushroom and Tinkerbell for the fairy, cut as a filigree. The decorative papers are all from the DCWV "Once Upon a Time" stack.

Cricut Circle Weekly Challenge #30 ~ Mom & Me

Weekly Challenge #30: Mom & Me Challenge!
The Challenge: Create a scrapbook page about you and your mom, OR you and one of your children.

I created this scrapbook layout primarily from the Imagine cart Lori's Garden. This cart has so many beautiful floral and feminine images. The large scallop is a flood filled shape from the Imagine Shape Library. The alphabet is cut from Wall Decor and More, utilizing the flood fill option on the Imagine to match the prints and colors from Lori's Garden. I used pop dots to add dimension to the rose in the bottom right hand corner. Other then that, the rest of the layers are composite images. I may go back and add a button or two, but other then that, the images can stand on their own. By the way, the little cutie is Kadence at 2 days old.

I think I am going to start listing titles that match the theme of the project I am working on at the end of each post. Stay tuned for additions to the Scrapbook Title categories of my blog. Also, feel free to add your favorite sayings when commenting so that I and others may also enjoy. =)

Cricut Circle Weekly Challenge #17: B.A.B.Y.

Weekly Challenge #17: B.A.B.Y. Challenge!
At first glance, you may think this challenge is all about babies . . . but look again! We are usually the memory keepers in our households, but how often do you take the opportunity to step out from behind the camera and record something about yourself? This week we challenge you to create a scrapbook layout all about YOU. Your page must include the following:

•(B) = Brads
•(A) = Aqua
•(B) = Butterfly
•(Y) = You as the Subject

I used carts Imagine More, Imagine More Cards, Imagine Shape Library, and Wall Decor & More. The paper, brads, and library clip are SU and the ribbon is MS.

Romance Card

I used my "Jinger Contest" card as my template for this one. I often try to make two cards at once, using the scraps and ideas from one card to create another. It really helps cut down on the "creation" time and helps build my card stash. The cart used was Wall Decor and More. I think this cart is really overlooked. It has a lot of great cuts, a monogram AND phrases.

Jinger's Card Making Contest

CARD MAKING CONTEST!
On January 20th, 2011, Provo Craft will be announcing a brand NEW exciting product on HSN! Anna Griffin will also be announcing a new product on that same day. We can’t tell you what it is yet, but would you like the opportunity to win both?! We knew you would! Everyone is elligible to play, but the Cricut Circle Members are getting a heads up on this contest a couple of days before anyone else. Here is what you need to do . . .

Create a card using atleast one Anna Griffin product (it can be anything!) and one or more of the following cartridges. You may use other cartridges on the card, but the majority of the design needs to represent one or more of the following cartridges:

•Don Juan Cartridge
•Winter Lace Seasonal Cartridge
•Wall Decor & More

I used Anna Griffin fabric for my inspiration for this project. I thought it was interesting and unique. Once I started to browse through the carts we could use, I found the perfect cuts all on Wall Decor And More, with the exception of the preloaded scalloped shape from the Imagine that I cut at 5 for both the fabric background on the front and paper background on the inside. The phrase "create" is cut at 4 inches, the key at 5 inches and the dress form at 5 inches. I sewed the background paper on with a t-shirt stitch and the fabric onto that with a straight stitch. I also haphazardly gathered and stitched the gold ribbon to tie into a bow, added a hat pin with golden colored beads, and some metal brads both to the scissors and the dress form to top off the embellishments.
To create the easel card:
Regular card size (4 1/4" x 5 1/2")
Vertical card
Start out with a 4 1/4" x 11" piece of cardstock and score at 5 1/2" and 8 1/4". Your card front piece will measure 4 1/4" x 5 1/2.
